- a deck of What cards
- a deck of How cards
- a token set
Number of players
3-6
Goal
Guess the right How Card put by the narrator.
Step
1
Setup

1
Shuffle the How deck and the What deck, then distribute a Like token to each player.
At the start of each round a player takes the role of the Narrator. The player that most recently visited the website wikihow.com will be the Narrator in the first round. The Narrator draws 7 What cards and 2 How cards, while the other players draw 5 How cards.
Step
2
Tutorial creation

2
The Narrator chooses one of those 2 How cards and discards the other, then proceeds to create a tutorial describing the action written on the How card through a sequence of 3 - 5 cards among the 7 cards drawn in the setup phase. The Narrator then places the sequence of What cards face up on the table and places the How card face down.
Step
3
Ending the turn

3
Players look at the sequence of What cards and pick the How card in their hand that best describes the sequence of What cards on the table. Players place the chosen How card face down. The Narrator then collects the players’ How cards and shuffles them together with his own How card.
Step
4
Endgame

4
The Narrator places the shuffled How cards face up on the table. The Players have to guess which is the How card that was picked by the narrator. In order to do so, all Players put their Token on the chosen How card at the same time. Players cannot vote for their own How card.
Parte

Assigning points

5
The Narrator then discloses which one of How cards is the one they originally played. Points are then assigned as such:
-
If at least one player correctly guessed the Narrator’s card, the Narrator gets 2 points. If every player correctly guessed the Narrator’s card, the Narrator gets 5 points instead.
-
Each player who correctly guessed the Narrator’s card gets 2 points.
-
Players whose How cards got at least one vote from other players get 1 point for each vote
Step
6
New turn

6
The unused How cards and the cards on the table are moved into two separate discard piles (one for What cards and one for How cards). The role of the Narrator shifts to the next player clockwise. Players draw cards as indicated in section 1. If there are not enough cards in either the What deck or the How deck, the corresponding discard pile is reshuffled.
Step
7
Endgame

7
The player that first reaches 20 points wins the game.

How to play together
This set of rules is inclusive and gender-neutral, so the players will be addressed using “they/them” pronouns.
A recommendation before the game starts: please remember that the well-being and safety of people that sit around the same table is more important than one’s individual enjoyment. The experience won’t be truly positive unless it is so for every person involved.
Some of the questions are taken directly from the web (and they have been selected for their cringe effect), so feel free to skip or discard from the game any content you may find problematic or distressing. In case of doubts, pausing the game and asking is always the best option. In the “print and play” files you will find empty templates of the cards: with these you can create new or substitutive versions of the cards.
